If you are searching for KALIA Odisha 2026, the first thing to know is that the scheme now runs under a new name. Since 2024, the Odisha government’s farmer support under KALIA is given as CM-KISAN (Chief Minister Kisan Yojana). The money, the portal and the status-check page have all moved to CM-KISAN, so old KALIA links and apps will not show your 2026 payments.
This guide explains what changed, who is eligible, how much you get, how to register and how to check your payment status on the official portal.
Quick Answer
- KALIA has been renamed CM-KISAN. Small and marginal farmers get ₹4,000 a year (₹2,000 per crop season); landless agricultural households get a one-time ₹12,500 in three instalments.
- Check status at the official portal: cmkportal.odisha.gov.in → Check Your Status using your Aadhaar number or Token number.
- Latest payment: the fifth instalment (more than ₹833 crore to over 41 lakh families) was released on 4 September 2026.
- For new registration keep ready: Aadhaar, ration card, land details registered on AgriStack/Krushak Odisha (Farmer ID), an Aadhaar-linked bank account and your own mobile number.
- Help: Krushi Samrudhi Helpline 155333 or your local agriculture office.
What Is KALIA?
KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) was launched by the Odisha government in 2018 to support small and marginal farmers, landless agricultural households and vulnerable agricultural families. It gave cultivators money per crop season for buying seeds, fertiliser and other inputs, and gave landless families money to start small allied activities like goat rearing or fishery.
After the change of government in 2024, the state re-branded KALIA as CM-KISAN Yojana. The Chief Minister told the Odisha Assembly in November 2024 that the scheme had been renamed, not stopped. CM-KISAN was launched on Nuakhai in September 2024 and is now funded by the state government from its own resources.
KALIA Status in 2026: What Changed to CM-KISAN
According to the official CM-KISAN portal and the Agriculture Department’s Annual Activity Report 2025-26, CM-KISAN has three parts:
| CM-KISAN component | What it gives |
| 1. Input support to farmers | ₹2,000 per crop season (₹4,000 per year) to small and marginal farmers for seeds, fertiliser, pesticides, labour and other farming costs |
| 2. Livelihood support for landless agricultural households | One-time ₹12,500, paid as ₹5,000 + ₹5,000 + ₹2,500, for allied activities like goat, poultry or duck units, fishery kits, mushroom, bee-keeping, dairy and tasar farming |
| 3. Krushi Vidya Nidhi Yojana | Scholarship for children of CM-KISAN beneficiaries studying professional or technical courses (Medical, Engineering, Agriculture, Nursing, Diploma, ITI) |
Payments are released twice a year, on Akshaya Tritiya (around April–May) and Nuakhai (around August–September). The two most recent releases were:
| Date | Instalment | Amount and beneficiaries |
| 20 April 2026 (Akshaya Tritiya) | Fourth | ₹838.48 crore to 41,68,582 farmers |
| 4 September 2026 (ahead of Nuakhai) | Fifth | More than ₹833 crore to more than 41 lakh families |
The government has not announced the date of the next release. Going by the twice-a-year pattern, the next instalment would normally come around Akshaya Tritiya 2027.
Note: The old KALIA websites are no longer the place to check payments. Use only the official CM-KISAN portal (cmkportal.odisha.gov.in) or the Krushak Odisha portal. Do not share your Aadhaar or OTP on unofficial apps or websites that use the KALIA name.
Who Is Eligible for CM-KISAN (Former KALIA)?
As per the official portal, any permanent resident of Odisha who is a small or marginal farmer, or a landless agricultural household, can register. The family is counted as all members on one ration card, and only one member of a family can get the benefit.
- Marginal farmer: cultivable land of less than 1 hectare.
- Small farmer: cultivable land of 1 to 2 hectares.
- Landless agricultural household: a rural landless family that works in agriculture for more than 6 months a year and lives on daily wages.
Who is not eligible
- Minors (below 18 years) and medium or large farmers
- More than one member of the same family
- Families where the farmer, spouse or any member is an income tax payer, a government or PSU employee, a retired employee or a pensioner
- Present or former holders of constitutional posts, ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors and Zilla Parishad chairpersons
- Registered doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects
- Applicants without a valid ration card; the portal FAQ also lists urban farmers as excluded
CM-KISAN Benefits in 2026
| Type of farmer | CM-KISAN (state) | PM-KISAN (central) |
| Small and marginal farmers (rural) | ₹4,000 per year in 2 instalments | ₹6,000 per year in 3 instalments, if eligible |
| Medium and large farmers | Not eligible | ₹6,000 per year, if eligible |
| Landless agricultural households | ₹12,500 one-time, in 3 instalments | Not eligible (no land) |
So an eligible small or marginal farmer in a village can get up to ₹10,000 a year from the two schemes together. The landless assistance of ₹12,500 is a one-time support, not a yearly payment.
Documents and Details Needed
The official portal lists these as necessary for online registration:
- Aadhaar card (OTP-based or biometric e-KYC is mandatory)
- Ration card (needed for all applicants to identify family members; see our guide to add a member to an Odisha ration card if a name is missing)
- Land record papers, with your land registered on the AgriStack Farmer Registry and Krushak Odisha portal (you can check your RoR on Bhulekh Odisha)
- Bank passbook first page, with the account linked to Aadhaar (money is sent only to Aadhaar-linked accounts)
- A unique mobile number of the applicant
- MGNREGA / VB-G-RAM-G job card (mandatory for landless agricultural households)
Our tip: Most problems start with a mismatch. Make sure your name is spelt the same way on Aadhaar, ration card, bank account and land record before you apply.
How to Register for CM-KISAN
The portal notice says new farmer registration is open from 6 July 2026, and an AgriStack Farmer ID is mandatory. Follow these steps:
