OSSC Age Limit and Qualification Rules

- Age relaxation: 5 years for SEBC, SC, ST and all women; 10 years for PwD; ex-servicemen get their defence service period. Only the most useful one relaxation applies.
- Odia language: you must read, write and speak Odia, and have passed Odia at Middle School level or higher (or the School and Mass Education Department’s Odia test).
- Date of birth proof: only the date in your HSC (Class 10) or equivalent certificate is accepted.
- Qualification deadline: you must hold the required qualification on the last date of the online application.
OSSC Application Fee
Under the Odisha Payment of Recruitment Examination Fees and Refund Rules, 2025, the OSSC exam fee is ₹500. SC, ST and PwD candidates pay no fee. The fee is paid online through the Odisha Treasury portal linked to the application form.
The fee is refunded to candidates who actually appear in the first stage of the exam, so enter correct, active bank details in the form.
How to Apply for OSSC Recruitment Online
OSSC accepts applications only online. When a recruitment opens:
- Open ossc.gov.in and click Apply Online (top right).
- First-time applicants click New User and register with your name as in the HSC certificate, e-mail and mobile (OTP verified), and create a username and password. If you applied before, click Registered User and use Re-registration.
- Upload your signature and left thumb impression (JPG, 20 to 50 KB each) and submit the registration.
- Click Provide Document Details and enter your HSC certificate, Aadhaar and, if claiming reservation, SC/ST/SEBC certificate details.
- Pay the ₹500 fee through Pay Online (skip if exempt). After payment, the Apply Now link opens.
- Fill the application, upload a recent colour passport photo (JPG, 20 to 100 KB), choose your post preferences and exam medium (Odia or English), preview and click Submit Application. Download and keep the printout.
If an online payment fails, do not pay again at once. OSSC says a failed payment is reconciled with the Treasury in about 3 to 4 working days, and the Apply Now link opens automatically if the money was received.
OSSC Selection Process
The 2025 CGLRE Specialist, CTSRE and CHSE Specialist exams have three stages and no interview.

OSSC does not post admit cards (called Admission Letters). You download them yourself:

- Applying for an OSSSC (district) or OUSSSC (police) post on the OSSC site, or the other way round.
- A name that does not match your HSC certificate.
